I got myself another modem an ambit 250 and when i try to unlock it with console unlocker it says it has unlocked it but when i try to open it with softjtag it wont open and shows an error. I've used all the softjtags and still nothing.

And when i used a max232 that i bought off fleabay it says it has unlocked it but you have to deactivate the downstream scanner. What is that supposed to be.

I found the answer to my question on the forum, when that happens it enables the 'P' option without having to flash the bootloader using softjtag.

When flashing the image it asks you where you want to flash the image what do you select

0 - Bootloader
1/2 CM Image
3 Specify flash sector

Last time i selected this wrong and ended up bricking the modem, dont want to do that again.

Edit: Answered this question myself and flashed it to sector 1 but when i press B and boot from flash it keeps on saying Unable to load image.

I've tried a few older haxorware images and 2mb infinite sheath and still the same.

What could be wrong?

I couldn't be bothered flashing any more so i bought myself a Scientific Atlanta 2100 pre flashed with haxorware 1.1 rev31. Would there be any use in upgrading to rev39 and would it be safe to use the firmware upgrade page (don't want to brick this too :P).

And where can i find my HFC IP?
