Default will V+ box from ebay work?

Hi there,
I have a Virgin Media package with M+ TV. I had been using an alternative box up until recently but it doesn't work any more. I'm not too bothered about getting any more channels but my previous box had a recorder and I miss that. I fancy getting a V+ box but don't fancy the deals from Virgin as they are all on a years contract and I might be immigrating in about 6 months.
If I buy a V+ box from ebay is there anything to stop it working with the Smart Card which is currently in my old Virgin box? (the smart card is a new one I got through the post a few months ago)
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

IT WONT WORK WITHOUT A PAIRED CARD

no your card will only give you FTA in another box and you wont be able to record

And i`m shocked you found a V+ box for sale on ebay as ebay pull them normally within 12 hrs of listing. as well as why pay £200 for one when you cant mod them now adays as 80% on the UK are now on N3 cards

u can get another v+box from vm for about £15 a month

Thanks alot for the reply.
There are quite a few boxes on ebay, one as buyitnow for £40+15p&p. There was no sign of a card though.
I wasn't looking for a chipped box, just one that would get the channels I pay for. I was more keen on the PVR facility.
I take it from "wont work without paired card", my card in a V+ box wont work
Thanks for your advice (it saved me £55)

phone em up tell em uve been away and theyll hit the card with the latest tiers to let it view the channels okay. its either that, or you havent put in the new card and your area no longer is pumping the 1800 stream
