Well I did it again. Smashed another one. My nokia n86. Smashed the glass screen but it still works as the lcd screen is intact. Unlike my old n95 which is still smashed. New screens on the way for both phones as this seems to be becoming a habit. Will post a few pics of the n86 when I have it stripped down.

Ok firstly watched this video YouTube - Nokia N86 screen take apart. you'll see how to get the front off the phone. It's simple to do. With the front off take all the easy bits, lcd screen key pad etc as per video.
Now for the tricky bit. The glass is glued on. I used a hair dryer to soften the glue and a blunt knife to gently prise it off. You might want to wear eye protection as glass splinters fly everywhere. Be aware a pcb is sandwiched between the glass screen and metal housing where the two small buttons are, so be gentle. With the glass and screen seperated I was left with the pcb stuck to the glass. Again I used the hair dryer to soften the glue and gently prised the pcb away from the glass. You'll also have access to 2 x buttons, earpiece gauze and front camera lense with the glass off. Remove all these. A tweezers is good for the gauze and lense. With everything removed from the metal housing clean off the bits of glue left behind. The new screen comes with glue attached so it's now time to do everything in reverse. Be sure to put pcb back in place, the right way round, and put the two buttons in the screen before sticking it in place. Once the glass is on you won't get these parts in afterwards. The rest is easy enough after that. I'll attach a few pics and if there's any questions fire away.

Few more pics. In these pics you can see the pcb and two buttons in the screen. It's vital to put these in position before you stick the glass screen on. The gauze and lense can be done when the glass is stuck on the metal. And make sure the pcb is the right way round as it will sit place either way but will only work the correct way round.
