Can someone tell me if I buy a SkyHd box of Ebay and plug to my exisisting sky dish, will I be able to watch the Free to air chanels on sky without having my telephone line plugged into the box. Also do I have to pay anything to sky to watch the free to air channels.

Also will I need a sky card for these?

    Thanks

The Free to Air channels work fine. Channel 4 HD works with a FTV card also but you'll be fine without a card for the world cup :)

It wasn't mentioned in the posts above, but the SkyHD box won't record without a subscription.

    Hi,

I am using Sky HD box without card. The only benefit of using the SkyHD box without a card is receiving free HD channels ie BBC HD and ITV1 HD....rest all the HD services are blocked and you cannot make any recording.
