Dell 32-inch W3207C HDTVDell is an American computer-hardware company based in Round Rock, Texas, that develops, manufactures, sells and supports personal computers, servers, data storage devices, network switches, personal digital assistants (PDAs), software, televisions, computer peripherals and other technology-related products. Some of you might think of Dell just in terms of PCs. But in reality, they have been making a name for themselves with their LCD monitors. They have carried that over to their LCD televisions as well. A concrete example of this is the Dell 32-inch W3207C HDTV.

Out of the box, the W3207C is designed with a slim 44 pound (with stand) frame. The first thing that strikes you with this model is the elongated contour of the Stratosphere design, a stretched limo look accentuated by a surrounding silver bezel. The next thing you will notice is its swivel stand. The swivel allows for more flexible viewing angles that even tilted at 45 degrees, is still stable and sturdy. Mounted on the stand, this unit stands about two feet high and three feet wide and almost eight inches deep. The front of the TV is clean without anything clutter except for the Dell logo in the center and the power indicator on the bottom right.

The TV’s connectivity options consists of standard inputs for modern HDTV sets. This includes one HDMI input, two HDTV component input, one composite input, one S-Video input, one VGA input with a matching mini PC Audio In. As an additional feature, it adds a secondary connection panel on the left side for quick easy access (one Composite, one S-Video, one stereo RCA Audio In, and a mini headphone jack). For those who wants to connect this TV to DVD players or set top boxes that have DVI outputs, W3207C offers a separate pair of RCA analog audio inputs for the HDMI input. However, even with the NTSC/ATC tuners integrated to the W3207C, it does not have PIP (picture in picture) capabilities. Dell‘s reason for this is that research found that people weren’t employing this feature in the viewing situations that Dell sees this TV being used.

Moving on, the picture from the W3207C is excellent that tweaking the settings is not necessary. Dell’s W3207C produces extremely pleasing images whether its the well waxed sheen of brand new cars or lyrical blacks and whites of classical films. The blacks though could be blacker, and the contrast didn’t always produce that HD moment. But don’t let that discourage you, Dell does produce top-notch image quality with movies and HD programming.Color reproduction is great and skin tones are natural and look good. Movies via the PC and especially with an up-scaling DVD player that can do 1080i look superb. Dell gave the Dell 32″ W3207C HDTV a great gray-to-gray response time of 8ms with ghosting or image smearing whatsoever. While the native resolution of the Dell 32″ W3207C HDTV is 1366×768 it capable of displaying several HDTV resolutions including; 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 576i, and 576p.

As for the sound, you might want to hook it up to a separate high-fidelity sound system. The 15 watts per channel speakers, built-in to the set, may not be capable of producing the ideal sounds that you like.

Dell 32-inch HDTV

Overall, the is a great HDTV set. If you are looking for one device that can be the center of your home theater and media center, then the Dell 32″ W3207C HDTV is hard to pass on.
