Nokia has launched the 6220 Classic camera phone, replacing its 6110 Classic, which was launched less than a year ago.
The main upgrade for the candybar phone is the 5-megapixel camera, which has a Carl Zeiss lens and Xenon flash. The camera on the 6110 model was only 2-megapixels.
The 6220 also features AGPS, which allows images to be tagged with the exact location of where they were taken.
The phone benefits from high-speed HSDPA connection, allowing the handset to be used to update blogs or upload photos and videos onto sites such as Flickr.
There is also an integrated TV-out feature, allowing images to be viewed on a television screen as well as the phone’s 2.2 inch display, or sent from phone to phone via wireless Bluetooth.
The 6220 Classic comes loaded with the Nokia Maps 2.0 application already installed.
A WidSets service is also pre-loaded, which brings web content directly to the device via mini-applications called widgets. These provide access to news updates, games and web communities.
Other features include internet browser, email, music player, FM radio with RDS and up to 8GB of memory.
The Nokia 6220 Classic should start shipping in some markets in Q3 for around €325 euros (not including taxes).
