Network video company Axis Communications has launched the ultra-compact Axis 247S Video Server.

The server, which is ideal for space-restrictive video surveillance applications, converts one stream of analogue video into high quality, full frame rate Motion JPEG or MPEG-4 video.

It is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) and also supplies power up into analogue cameras through PoE. The support for PoE together with the server’s compact size means that it can be quickly and easily set up and relocated.

The video encoder can deliver Motion JPEG and advanced MPEG-4 streams simultaneously and can be optimised for image quality and bandwidth.

The Axis 247S is available now for £304 (excluding VAT) through Axis Communication’s usual UK and Ireland distribution channels.
