Buffalo Technology has added exclusive TurboUSB technology to its MiniStation and DriveStation USB 2.0 hard drives.

The technology significantly increases the speed of file transfers and enhances performance.

Buffalo’s MiniStation and DriveStation drives provide lightweight storage solutions that are ideal for mobile users.

The TurboUSB MiniStation is a portable, shock-resistant USB 2.0 attached external hard drive which, with TurboUSB technology, provides file transfer rates up to 64% faster than traditional USB 2.0 hard drives.

The new version of the MiniStation includes a wrap-around cable for easy storage, an armoured outer case and shock-absorbent internal design based on a new floating structure.

The MiniStation draws power from the PC it is connected to, eliminating the need for an external power supply. It is currently available in 80GB, 120GB, 160GB and 250GB capacities, with a 300GB version to follow.

Buffalo’s TurboUSB DriveStation provides 37% faster file transfer speeds and is available in capacities of 250GB, 320GB, 500GB, 750GB and 1TB.

The “Plug-n-Play” drives can connect to any USB 2.0 port on a desktop, laptop or Buffalo network attached storage device where the software is loaded, and are protected by Secure Lock Ware drive and file encryption technology.

The TurboUSB MiniStation and TurboUSB DriveStation ranges are available now from £55 to £173 for the MiniStation, depending on capacity. The DriveStation is priced from £67.00 to £304, including VAT.
