BT plan UK fastest broadband

January 10, 2008

In an attempt to stay on of the game, BT will be creating a new installation in Ebbsfleet, Kent where users will be able to receive broadband at around twenty times the speed as the average broadband user can obtain in the UK.

This work will take place at a new development of ten thousand houses and will provide the industry with some valuable testing research, which would in turn please Ofcom and the government too.

The work will begin in august by BT Openreach; they will be installing super fast fibre connections as opposed to the copper phone lines that would traditionally be used. Once the work is completed the lines will then be offered to BT Retail, Talk Talk, and BSkyB, who will then be able to offer this to their new customers.
