JVC announced the launch of four new LCD HDTVs with built-in iPod docks, at the Consumer Electronics Show 2008 in Las Vegas.

The iPod dock, which is located at the based of the set, is an integral part of the TV, with audio played back through the TV’s speakers.

The four iPod HDTVs will include three 1080p models, measuring 42-inches, 47-inches and 52-inches. There will also be a 32-inch iPod set, offering
768p video. Pricing details have not yet been announced.

The 32-inch and 42-inch sets will be available in March 2008, the 47-inch set in April and the 52-inch set in summer.

When an iPod is docked with the set, a menu appears on the TV screen for selecting music or video playback.

The iPod can be controlled from the TV’s remote control, which features a circular keypad, designed to mimic the iPod’s control wheel.

During music playback, the song title and artist’s name are shown on the TV screen.

When docked with the TV, the iPod will charge automatically, regardless of whether the TV is switched on or off.
