Giesecke & Devrient is extending its range of USB security tokens with two new models.

The StarSign USB Token model can be personalised in large numbers and can also be configured to suit project security requirements.

Customers can choose between various proprietary or Java-based smart card operating systems from Giesecke & Devrient with differing security standards (such as FIPS 140-2 or EAL 4+).

The StarSign USB Token MicroSD model can be used on a PC without installing driver software. It allows applications to be started directly from the token. The model provides a combined flash memory of up to one gigabyte.

Both models provide PC users with secure authentication, and data encryption independent of transmission and document signing.

The company will launch the tokens at the CeBIT trade show in Germany, 4-9 March, where it will also launch a new design for the complete product family.
