Throughout March and April, Sky is planning to add Sky Sports HD 3, Sky Movies Premiere HD and FX HD. The channels will air between 7pm and 2am.
FX HD will be a bespoke channel rather than an FX simulcast. Sky estimates that 90% of its output will be in high definition. It has been working with FX on selecting content and expects to be the only service provider carrying the channel.
Sky Sports HD 3 will include European Tour golf. Sky Movies Premiere HD will screen big name new movies, including an HD screening of Titanic.
Sky’s director of product management, Stephen van Rooyen, said: “When these new channels are added to our existing HD line-up, our customers will be able to enjoy over 6,500 hours of must-see HD programming each month.
“We’re committed to investing in the HD programmes and channels that matter to our customers. The addition of FX, Sky Sports 3 and Sky Movies Premiere will ensure that we continue to deliver quality HD content which appeals to the whole family.”
