Talk Talk offer Phorm<br />

Recently there was news of the interest of the big three internet service providers BT, Virgin Media and Talk Talk, in the marketing company Phorm, which is said to monitor the computer activity of the subscriber as they surf the net. The ISP’s can make more revenues through targeted adverts with the use of Phorm.

Naturally this has caused worries amongst internet users, in fact they there has even been an online petition running on the Downing St website, where Phorm has been accused of invading privacy. But Phorm claim that all of the information that has been gathered has been done totally anonymously, but this has not made many users feel safe.

From now on customers with Talk Talk, will get the opportunity to sign up for Phorm, this should stop all of worries about the program now. The company say that although they are backing the introduction of Phorm, they are by no means forcing it onto any of their customers. Although they also said that Phorm does offer anti phishing alerts and targeted advertising.
