March 26, 2008

TechARP.com, a Malaysian website announced that Windows WP Service Pack 3 will be released during the second half of April in seven languages (English, Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean and Spanish). The remaining support languages will be released about 21 days later it says. TechARP.com has accurately predicted several Microsoft release dates. Microsoft has declined comment.

Microsoft has warned people not to use the build of XP SP3 that is currently available on Torrent download sites. It was not intended for public release and may contain malware or other bad code that Microsoft has not tested.

Windows XP will no longer be available on the Microsoft resellers list as of the 30th of June. On the 31st of January 2009 it will be removed from distribution channels altogether as Vista becomes the standard operating system.
