BT secures £62m deal with KPMG Europe LLP

April 1, 2008

BT has won a five-year outsourcing contract, worth £62m, to manage and upgrade KPMG Europe LLP’s data networks, including providing an IP-based telephone system.

KPMG is investing in the new technology in order to deliver operating-cost savings to its businesses, facilitate future expansion and improve employee productivity.

BT will manage and upgrade KPMG’s wide area network and local area network, and deploy Cisco IP telephony which will be integrated with an existing Microsoft Office Communications Server platform. The new system will provide video and audio conferencing.

Initially, BT will take over the infrastructure in KPMG’s UK and German divisions, which together form KPMG Europe LLP, with a view to extending this arrangement to other countries in the future.

KPMG chose BT as its outsourcing partner because of the company’s experience and expertise in network and IT services and its track record in managing complex global contracts.
