Axis Communications is launching a range of new generation network video products at IFSEC 2008.

The new products support H.264 compression technology which reduces storage and bandwidth requirements by over 80% compared with Motion JPEG and by 50% compared with MPEG-4 Part 2 standard, without compromising image quality.

The company is launching AXIS P3301 Network Dome camera, a fixed dome designed for unobtrusive video surveillance in sensitive indoor environments.

The AXIS P3301 features progressive scan and wide dynamic range technology, which produces crisp and clear images, even in low light conditions.

The camera can produce multiple H.264 streams plus Motion JPEG streams either in full frame rate or individually optimised for different quality requirements and bandwidth constraints.

The AXIS P3301-V version of the camera has a vandal-resistant casing for use in challenging environments.

Axis is also demonstrating two new video encoders incorporating H.264 compression technology at the event.

The AXIS Q7401 Video Encoder supports one analogue channel, while the AXIS Q7406 Video Encoder Blade, supports six analogue channels.

The video encoders analogue cameras to be integrated into an IP-based video surveillance system.
