Swann Securities’ newly released USB 2.0 DVR Guardian can turn a desktop or laptop computer into a home or business surveillance system.

The portable device simply plugs into the USB port on a computer and can display and record live video from up to four cameras.

Data is recorded directly onto the computer’s hard drive, making it easy to store and manage.

The system can be controlled and viewed remotely over the Internet or via a mobile phone, and can be programmed to record at a specific time.

The system features motion detection technology, which will notify the user by email when triggered.

The USB 2.0 DVR Guardian is priced at £89.99 and is available online or at Maplin Electronics stores.
