Channel Four to launch catch up

May 2, 2008

In line with what most of the other broadcasters are doing these days, Channel Four have finally come up with their own catch up service available over the internet at channel4.com. This service will follow the same pattern as the BBC’s iPlayer with user being able to catch up on programmes that have been broadcast in the previous seven days.

This will be completely separate from 4oD, which is the service that offers content from Channel Four over the past thirty days as well as other archived material, this service that will eventually become Project Kangaroo.

The new catch up service unlike the iPlayer there is no requirement to download any software or even register for the service. However the format of the new catch up service will follow the same line as the 4oD service when it comes to advertising, these will be shown before and once during the programme.
