Firefox 3 to be released on the 17th June

by David Allen

The long wait is over and the date for the release of Mozilla’s Firefox 3 has finally been announced.

The 17th June has finally been named as the famous “Download Day”, this is an idea which has been thought up by the people behind Firefox, the Mozilla Corp, and an attempt to get into the Guinness Book of Records is on the cards too.

Well over a million people have pledged that they will be downloading the browser on the said day; this includes just over forty thousand from the UK.

Although as there is no current record for downloads, it makes no difference, but it’s all good publicity.

Users of the new browser can expect to see up to fifteen thousand changes since the introduction of Firefox 2 and it has been in the making for almost three years.

The people behind Firefox 3 say that this is best browser ever, but you really wouldn’t expect anything else.

By the 18th June we will all know what it is like for real!
