Eurosport testing HD prior to launch

by David Allen

Another HD channel is about to be added to the line up on Sky, if testing and negotiations all go according to plan.

The European wide sports channel, Eurosport, has been testing the channel on the HD platform alongside the news channel, Eurosport News, with a view to running it in the UK through the Sky Network.

The channel say that they are responding to enquiries from viewers since the launch of the Eurosport HD service in May, that is at the moment showing live coverage of the Tour de France in HD, although this is only being shown in France and a few other countries.

If everything goes alright, then Eurosport will be making a well timed comeback to the UK, possibly just in time for the Olympics, with Eurosport News and Eurosport HD, which could be included within the Sky HD mix package.
