Virgin Media have been losing customers over the past year, and at the rate they are losing them it is a wonder that they managed to increase profits, but they have and in the process have exceeded the market’s expectations for the second quarter of 2008.
The company lost nearly twenty thousand customers in the second quarter, taking the total amount of residential customers to under five million.
However when compared to the same period last year the loss is small – they lost over seventy thousand in the same quarter in 2007.
The average revenue per user (ARPU) has slightly dropped to £41.63 per month from £42.16.
This is because they have managed to increase those customers who sign up for multiple services, but this quarter has not been the best for Virgin Media.
