Sports sites to use e-Player

by David Allen

The e-Player had been initially developed for use by Virgin Media to show football highlights from the UEFA Cup on their website.

However, this is now being revamped in order for third party media owners to add more content to their sites using the Perform rights portfolio.

The content provided through Perform will include darts, rugby, golf, tennis, cricket and basketball.

This system is currently being used by the Sun, ITV, the Times and the Telegraph to add relevant sports highlights into their sites.

This can be embedded into a story to add more user content.

The e-Player is supported by advertising, which means that the user will probably have to view an advert before actually seeing the video clip that they wanted to see in the first place.
