60% speed increase through iPlate

by David Allen

The iPlate or interstitial plate, which is available through BT, has been shown to increase broadband connection speeds by almost sixty per cent.

In new tests, one internet user who had a broadband connection of 1.9 Mbps installed the iPlate and as result within a few days, the speed had increased to 3.1 Mbps an increase of sixty three per cent.
This has been replicated with other broadband connections with similar results.

The device costs just £10 from BT, but is available from other suppliers from around £13, although it has to be said that this device will not always work, it is no magic bullet to increase speed. It is estimated that around seventy per cent of homes would benefit from installing the iPlate, as it only works on older lines, if the line is new then the iPlate will make no difference.
