Freesat adds more channels

September 15, 2008

Freesat has been compared to Sky as an alternative for viewers to get digital TV when the switchover takes place in their area.

Unfortunately, Freesat is nowhere near becoming a full replacement for Sky, but they are adding more content, which is going to help.

However, there is no new HD content and the five new channels offer specialised viewing such as BBC Alba (Gaelic), Zee (Asian music), Best Direct (shopping), Planet Rock Freesat radio or the Audi Channel.

Freesat is not that old, in fact even though it may seem to have been around for a long time, it is infact only a matter of months.

Therefore, there is still plenty of room to spare, although the service does include most of the main channels, apart from those belonging to the five network.
