Web founder wants more truth

by David Allen

The man credited for being largely responsible for the creation of the internet, Sir Tim Berners-Lee, claims that he has been so concerned as to what is happening on the internet that he is going to do something about it.

His worries are related to the amount of disinformation rather than the actual facts being posted on the internet.

To this end, he is setting up the World Wide Web Foundation, whose goals are to get more people online and to look the amount of information posted on the internet that just simply is not true.

With all of the good intentions that he may have by launching this foundation, the idea of preventing people from spreading rumours or telling stories will create a whole load of trouble for the foundation, as people are going to say that he is trying to control what people use the internet for.
