Business broadband finds more speed

by David Allen

According to a recent survey it has been found that businesses in the UK are getting more speed out of their internet.

In fact during the time period from Oct 07 to May 08 the amount of UK businesses getting a broadband connection running at 10 Mbps or more has increased from eighteen per cent to twenty five per cent, while those businesses getting a 50 Mbps connection has increased to thirteen per cent.

The survey also found that within the next two or three years, nearly half of businesses are expecting to need more speed than is currently available, while around seven per cent of the businesses asked are expecting to require a significantly faster broadband connection.

Yet it appears that while speed is a factor for the future, around twenty one per cent of businesses are actually having to cope with a broadband connection speed of just 2 Mbps or less!
