As if losing all their savings when the Icelandic banks went into administration a few weeks ago was not bad enough, it seems that their internet service providers are blocking essential emails detailing how they can claim their savings back, because they are being seen as spam.
The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) are currently in negotiation with the ISP’s including the Carphone Warehouse.
The FSCS is urging customers of Icesave to contact them if they believe that they have been affected by this problem.
It is estimated that around three hundred thousand UK savers had saving with Icesave which could amount to £4 billion when the accounts were frozen in early October.
The emails explain to the customers how they can log onto their accounts, whereas previous emails had said not to log onto their accounts.
