Google offer free 3D software

by David Allen

SketchUp may have been around since 2006, but the latest additions SketchUp 7 and SketchUp Pro 7 offer the user access to a different type of modelling application, which can help user create 3D models that are also aware of what is going on around them.

Both versions of SketchUp have the useful addition of Google’s 3D Warehouse integrated into it, this is an open place where the users can share models that other users have created and even upload their own models for the same reason.

Although the basic version is still free to users, as long as it is for personal use, the SketchUp Pro 7 has a price tag of around £300 for professional use, though could pay for itself in no time at all.

SketchUp 7 and SketchUp Pro 7 is compatible with both Windows 2000, XP and Vista, as well as Mac OS X (10.4+)
