BSkyB express interest in Tiscali

by David Allen

The satellite broadcaster BSkyB has for the first time confirmed that taking on the UK division of Tiscali would be something that might interest the company, as it would considerably increase its customer base for broadband services.

It has been estimated that the price of Tiscali could be something in the region of £500 million, but a deal like this has the potential to almost double its broadband customer base in one fair swoop.

But then there is the potential to provide satellite TV services to these customers as well, and it is clear to see that there is value in a deal of this kind, providing that the price is right.

Tiscali has confirmed that it is in talks with BSkyB with a view to taking on the UK assets of the company.

However this has happened before with other potential buyers, but to no end.
