It was not long ago that BSkyB was celebrating the big Sky HD marketing push, with a £150 reduction in the price of the set top box and the creation of a thousand jobs, but it would appear that all is not going according to plan at Sky HD.
The quality of the Sky HD set top boxes is being questioned, with thousands of BSkyB customers having their equipment recalled.
This has, up until now, remained under wraps, but with the possibility of ninety thousand customers being affected the problem had to come out sooner or later.
The HD box, produced by Pace, has a design flaw which could mean disk failure.
Other HD set top boxes made by Samsung, Amstrad and Thompson are fine.
BSkyB will be offering three months free HD subscription to those affected.
