Keith Chegwin mobbed in Freeview stunt

by David Allen

Freeview must have been rubbing its hands together when it managed to get Keith Chegwin, a coat covered in five pound notes and a mob of two hundred shoppers from Plymouth, all in the same place at the same time, in order to educate people about Freeview.

However, mobs of people, celebrities and cash are always going to be difficult to control.

The plan was that “Cheggers” would run a hundred yards wearing a coat covered in a £1000 worth of fivers, which passing shoppers could grab as he ran by.

Yet things got a little out of hand before the run even started, when the crowd moved in and stripped the coat of the cash before anyone had a chance to do anything about it.

Great PR for Freeview and it only cost a £1,000!
