Sky+ HD boxes to get new guide

by David Allen

By now users of the Sky+ HD service should be getting to grips with their new programme guide, which offers a different style of checking up on what is on Sky TV.

The software for the new HD programme guide was downloaded throughout the night to over thirty eight thousand Sky+ HD set top boxes, at a time when it would have caused the least disruption.

It turns out those customers with a Thompson 4E300E set top box would have been the first to get the upgrade.

The programme guide upgrade has been in development for around two years now and the beta version has been received by viewers as being very good.

The rollout of this upgrade is going to take several months to travel around all of the Sky+ HD set top boxes on the subscriber base.
