It may be a League Two game but matches between local rivals Dagenham & Redbridge and Brentford are always going to draw a large crowd.
The latest match was so significant that Sky Sports sent a crew there to televise it live.
For small clubs this means a payday of £30,000, so everything should have been perfect.
Yet just twenty minutes before the kick off the ground was plunged into darkness as the lights failed.
After several attempts by the ground staff to rectify the situation, it became clear that the lights were not coming back on and so the ref called the game off.
For both teams this means no money from Sky Sports and for Dagenham & Redbridge the further problem of having to return their fans’ money too.
There was talk that the power cut was down to Sky Sports, but they have their own generators.
