TV first as Sky broadcasts in 3D

April 6, 2009

Sky TV has proved that 3D TV is a possibility with a test broadcast, as part of the satellite provider’s aim to have a viable 3D TV service in the not too distant future.

The broadcast was in the form of a concert by the popular group Keane, who were performing at the famous Abbey Road studios on London.

The concert was recorded and beamed to a Hyundai 3D Television next door, to an excited audience of fans.

The concert was also broadcast live online, where viewers were required to wear special 3D glasses to view it.

The broadcast was a success and Sky TV’s plans to provide a 3D TV service continues to gather pace.

They have now broadcasted music, sport and entertainment programmes in 3D making the possibility of 3D TV happening sooner rather than later.
