From the latest move by the targeted web advertising company Phorm, it seems that it is willing to pay or bribe, depending on which way you are looking at it, users to sign up to the system.
Phorm is considering contributing to the customers broadband bill or is even willing to make a donation to charity, for any user that signs up for the service.
BT customers will know the service as “Webwise”.
It become famous after it was revealed that BT and Phorm had been conducting secret trials of the system without BT’s customers’ knowledge.
There have been concerns brought up from many quarters, including the EU and also from customers of BT, yet it seems that with this latest plan Phorm is still trying to get that foot in the broadband door.
