Tiscali could sue over comparison site claims

by David Allen

The struggling internet service provider Tiscali has taken exception to comments made by a broadband price comparison site, in fact it is considering legal action.

The problem comes from an article posted on the Top 10 Broadband website, which told Tiscali’s customers that they should consider switching broadband suppliers because the company is in financial crisis.

Tiscali on the other hand has said that these comments are totally irresponsible and that they would be taking legal advice.

This event follows the news earlier on in the week when the company’s auditor, Ernst & Young, said that it was unable to sign off the 2008 financial accounts of the ISP, which could indicate that there could be something wrong.

In fact what the auditor said was that the sign-off was dependent on the renegotiation of the firm’s debt.
