Faster broadband could help businesses

by David Allen

High speed broadband could be beneficial to businesses, allowing them to take on bigger projects and therefore boosting their profits.

However, the Digital Britain plan does not necessarily cater for all businesses, especially those working in the IT industry, where owners may be self employed and probably working from home in a rural location.

High speed broadband needs to be rolled out everywhere and be available for all users, but the report talks of an up-to-2 Mbps service, which means in some areas the speeds are going to be much lower than that on occasions.

Broadband is necessary for businesses to flourish in the IT world, but there are plenty of businesses capable of taking on projects, only to find that the broadband service is not up to the job.
