Tiscali tries again to find a buyer

by David Allen

The sale of Tiscali is back on the agenda once again.

In fact the sale of the UK division has been on the cards for some time only to be pulled back when things went wrong.

However, it looks as if time is running out for Tiscali and it really need to do something positive.

Selling the UK division could make a lot of difference to the telecom and broadband company and to their 1.8 million customers too.

There are only two chances for Tiscali, a possible deal with BSkyB although it has walked away from talks in the past, and with Carphone Warehouse who is the favourite and was ironically the first UK ISP to be kicked out of the initial bidding stages.

Tiscali could do with both firms entering into a bidding war, but it is doubtful if BSkyB and the Carphone Warehouse are going enter into that at this late stage.
