Twitter improves search

by David Allen

Twitter is making sure that its search engine is returning the results that users want by revamping the search system and adding new features.

Twitter has grown to over twenty five million users and as such there is a need to refine the search engine in order to cope with all of those 140 character posts.

The new search will not only process them, but will also cover what is appearing across the web.

There will also be a ranking system where the most popular posts and trends will be shown, as well as the Twitterer’s reputation.

This would take into consideration the number of followers and the amount of posts that the individual user makes.
