BBC launches revamped junior iPlayer

May 12, 2009

The BBC is to release an updated version of the catch up service, the Cbeebies iPlayer, which is aimed at kids under the age of six and their parents.

The iPlayer has been redesigned to make the user experience better and to allow children, as they get older or used to using the device, to pick and choose their own content.

This version of the iPlayer will only provide access to programmes that are suitable for that particular age range and will not contain any content that is meant for older viewers.

This allows parents to give their children the freedom to select their favourite shows.

Careful consideration has been given to the way that the iPlayer looks, making it easier to navigate, with brighter colours and bigger buttons.
