Satellite channels nominated for awards

The nominations for the prestigious Edinburgh International TV Festival’s “Channel of the Year” awards have been announced.

The nominations are made as a result of two thousand votes, from the public, festival delegates, members of the industry and the network & fast track alumni, through an online voting system organised through YouGov.

The nominees for Best Non-Terrestrial Programme are:
Being Human (BBC Three)
The Inbetweeners (E4)
The Wire (FX)
Red Dwarf: Back to Earth (Dave)
Ross Kemp Return to Afghanistan (Sky1)

This is an interesting awards system as half of the votes for the best channel awards will come from a live audience, while the remainder will be made by the festival’s executive committee.

The winners will receive their awards at a ceremony at the festival on the 29th August.

This will be hosted by Michael McIntyre.
