There is no doubt that the sports satellite broadcaster Setanta is not going to go down without a fight.
It was expected, following long board meetings, that the administrators would have been called in yesterday.
However, this has not happened, so could the management have found a lifeline from somewhere?
ESPN is a broadcaster that is keen to get the Premier League football rights, after losing out in the last round of contract auctions, but is a deal with ESPN something that Setanta could live with?
The problem is that the sports contracts are complicated, having been designed to prevent one broadcaster from dominating the entire sport.
There are also issues with transferring contracts too, so maybe a takeover or partnership is the only route for Setanta to take.
