BBC getting mobile iPlayer ready

June 12, 2009

With mobile technology like the Apple iPhone and the Nokia E71 displaying how the internet can be surfed from a mobile device with ease, there is one application missing, the BBC’s iPlayer.

But the BBC is not known to sit around when it comes to the iPlayer and is getting ready to launch a mobile version of the iPlayer for mobile users.

It is the latest version of the Apple iPhone that has the BBC excited.

This is because the iPhone operating system 3.0 uses http streaming and is therefore ideal for use with the iPlayer.

However, with the iPhone still under wraps, there is not likely to be any more news from the BBC until Apple makes the announcement and the phone is launched onto the market.
