The satellite broadcaster BSkyB will be using its partnership with British Cycling to launch a series of events that will close down the city centres of Glasgow, Leicester, London and Manchester.
The cycling events will be called Skyride and this comes as part of the broadcaster’s interest in the UK cycling road race team that has now been renamed, Team Sky.
This is just one of many events planned by BSkyB and the cycling team.
There will be around four hundred guided rides across the UK, where experienced cyclists will act as guides.
Cyclists of all abilities are invited to join.
The idea behind all of these events is to produce a UK Tour de France winner within five years.
It is clear that BSkyB will be promoting cycling events throughout that time period.
