UFC delivers knock out to Setanta

by David Allen

The organisation that runs the Ultimate Fighting Championship has confirmed that it has broken off its agreement with the troubled satellite broadcaster.

Setanta has been showing the UFC since the beginning of 2008 and was getting viewing figures as high as 250,000 for the live coverage of the fights.

Now it seems that, like many of the sporting organisations that have contracts with Setanta, the UFC has jumped ship and will be looking for a new deal, which could possibly be with Sky Sports, Five, Virgin 1 or Bravo.

With the UFC 100 due to take place on the 11th July in Las Vegas, British fans and the UFC will be hoping for a fast turnaround in being able to secure a broadcasting deal in time for the event.
