BBC add email feature to the iPlayer

Bookmark and Share

by David Allen

The BBC has announced that it has added a new feature to the iPlayer that will allow users to email the bookmarks of their favourite BBC TV shows to their friend and colleagues.

This is the sort of feature that has been available to YouTube users and it save the user from having to explain to their friends exactly where their favourite shows and videos are.

Further to this, the user can also send a link to a specific part within a show, so when there is something that the user finds interesting or funny, this link will enable them to share this with others.

Another feature is that the BBC has created a short URL creator which make it so much easier to send links to friends via micro blogging sites like Twitter or even by SMS.

To use this feature the user simply has to click on the programme information link below the video.

This will reveal the “Send to Friend” feature.
