Adults want the iPlayer on mobiles

July 14, 2009

The mobile internet has seen a huge growth in use recently, mainly due to the availability of handsets and the right sort of content.

Research from CCS Insight has found that the easy to access social networking sites, such as Facebook and Twitter, are creating the demand for the mobile internet.

A study by the firm has shown that a third of mobile phone users aged between sixteen to thirty five are using their device to access the internet and in particular social network sites.

It is men who are more likely to use their device to access the internet, but there is one thing that stands out more than anything else - the application that adults would most like to see made available on their mobile phone is the BBC iPlayer.

There are only limited amount of phones currently on the market that offer the iPlayer to its users.
