T-Mobile UK has dismissed rumours that it is in talks with Apple to strike an iPhone distribution deal.
The iPhone is currently only available on the O2 network, although an O2 spokesperson recently confessed that its exclusive contract with Apple could be ending soon.
Reports in the Register suggested the iPhone could be available on T-Mobile and Orange in as little as four months.
The Register suggested that O2 would continue to have exclusive rights for the new iPhone 3GS, while other networks would offer the iPhone 3G.
T-Mobile played down the rumours as “merely speculation” on which it is unable to comment.
If T-Mobile or Orange manage to agree terms with Apple, then the UK will be the first market offering the iPhone on two official carriers.
