FetchTV brings the BBC iPlayer to TV

July 17, 2009

It seems that there is no stopping the spread of the BBC’s iPlayer.

At one time it was only accessible through a computer, then Virgin Media offered it to subscribers so that they could watch programming on the TV.

Now more people will be able to access the iPlayer, but no computer or subscription will be necessary with the FetchTV Smartbox.

This set top box gives the user access to the BBC iPlayer and other video on demand services with no monthly subscription required, offering a real alternative to other ways of connecting to the iPlayer.

It is not just the BBC iPlayer that is on offer, as content from the channels such as Channel Four will be available too.

The FetchTV Smartbox will be available in stores at around £219.
