BT to sell Microsoft’s online services

by David Allen

A deal has been struck between BT and Microsoft which will see the telecoms provider selling online services to its business customers.

Under the agreement BT will sell MS Exchange Online, SharePoint Online and MS Office Communications Online, through its 21CN network

For BT this opens up the opportunity to offer its customers a fully hosted managed service with higher levels of service and a guaranteed network performance.

With the connections that BT has, this arrangement allows both firms to offer large companies and organisations a cloud based collection of business tools.

The deal could be good for customers too, as they gain access to these tools without the need to purchase licences, as they would need to do if these tools were distributed throughout the company.
